Susan Ward

My main process in art is printmaking, more specifically the dry point process. My work mainly deals with Architecture, this year in particular Glasgow and The Red Road Flat’s. The architecture my artwork portrays particular deals with buildings in Glasgow that are falling into decay, abandon and derelict. I project my past memories and emotions onto the architecture as well. My technique in art is the obsessive interest in the use of lines and this year I have introduced a more architectural style to my artwork, developing from 2D to 3D art. I have been fascinated by architectural style art with either Gothic or obsessive interest in line art, This now has develop for myself as an artist and how I adapt architectural methods and make them my own. There does seem to be one common thread woven throughout my art making: I am often obsessive and gets lost in detail.
