As a Mixed Media Visual Artist my work grows from conceptual ideas and can take many different creative forms. I develop initial concepts through drawing, photography, collage and 3D assemblage and through intuition and experimentation I allow the creative process to direct a project, selecting the most appropriate methodologies and materials to communicate my ideas. I find this process delivers the most exciting, challenging and successful results.
My main influence and inspiration has been Louise Bourgeois; an artist who had an immeasurable imagination and uncompromising integrity. Like Bourgeois my studio practice is deeply influenced by personal experience, with the visual interpretation and manifestation of emotion at the centre of my art. I am fascinated by memories and the complex relationship they have with one’s sense of identity.
